Projects outside the U.S. are welcome to register and pursue certification under LEED-ND. USGBC is soliciting feedback from all non-US projects to determine if the rating system encourages regionally and culturally appropriate planning and design decisions outside of the U.S. This feedback mechanism will serve two purposes 1) It will provide an opportunity for non-U.S. projects to provide feedback that will help inform the development of the future version of the rating system, and 2) USGBC will learn from the international application of the rating system and potentially develop a more appropriate rating system for projects outside the U.S. in the future. All Non-U.S. projects are required to provide
feedback.
Prior to submitting an application for the Smart Location & Linkage (SLL) Prerequisite Review, Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 3, all non-U.S. projects will be required to complete a questionnaire to provide USGBC with information about the project that will help us understand different land use practices and cultural issues in other countries and how the rating system might best be altered in the future to address different practices. The information provided in the questionnaire will not impact the outcome of the review of any non-U.S. project in the certification process. In addition to filling out the questionnaire, non-U.S. projects will be asked to participate in interactive sessions
to provide USGBC with additional feedback about how the rating system and submittal requirements worked
in their country or for their project type.
